We are thrilled to announce that John Caslake, registered manager of our Summerwood care home, has won the award for Outstanding Innovation and Best Practice, 2020 (Hampshire Care Awards)!
In the same year that saw John lead Summerwood to a CQC rating of Outstanding in 4 key areas, this new award really is well deserved by John and has been a welcome boost to him and the entire Summerwood team after what has been a challenging year for all in social care roles.
In response to the deluge of congratulatory messages received from his colleagues, John said:
This award nomination was a surprise but it was even more of a surprise to win! I don’t feel that this award was only about me. Everything we do with residents in all the Apple House establishments reflects our ethos of having a fresh approach to care. None of us are afraid of trying new and challenging things that push the boundaries of the care we give to all the people we support. This award reflects our approach and is a reflection of our excellent work, so well done to all of us for being so amazing. Thank you all for being so great to work with.

Congratulations, John, from all of us!
