We are thrilled to welcome a new manager to Redcroft care home in Bournemouth! Sharron Eyears is a Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse and, most recently, has worked closely with Apple House Ltd as the Level 5 Health and Social Care Assessor for management personnel. Anniversary party…

It’s hard to believe that ten years have flown by since  Apple House Care Home first opened its doors!  We are so thrilled that we still have the same loyal, incredible manager, Jayne Jackson, who joined us on the very first day in 2005! For some residents, Apple House has been their home since 2005 and what a happy home it is! Offering a little eggstra…

For many years Redcroft Care Home residents have enjoyed caring for their chooks, collecting the eggs and baking delicious cakes.  There really is nothing like the taste of organic eggs with large sunny yolks!  Summerwood agree and will now be our second home to keep chickens with a run being installed soon.  We know where to go for cakes! …

Sailing..

Apple House resident, Mr. P, joined a local sailing club and enjoyed his first ever yachting experience this month!  This really was the fulfilment of an ambition and a fabulous opportunity to enjoy our wonderful coastal waters.  As part of the sailing club, Mr. P is looking forward to first class tuition and many more fun days sailing. …

Apple House Make-Over and Log Cabin Holiday…

With precision timing and working late into the night, Apple House Care Home had a make-over in just 7 days including a brand new kitchen, new flooring throughout the downstairs and a dazzling lick of paint.  Meanwhile the residents enjoyed a fabulous week at Naish Park in a log cabin complete with indoor heated swimming pool and much fun!  During the week the residents visited the New Forest National Park, Lymington and Highcliff.  When the week drew to a close all returned to explore their fabulously enhanced home. A Little Comic Relief At Summerwood…

John Caslake gets nosey! It was comic relief all round at Summerwood Care Home last week.  With everyone sporting a red nose the staff and residents raised a great amount towards charity. John Caslake, Registered Manager, said: As part of our activities for the day there was a colouring competition, cake making, nose selling, and general silliness. To facilitate the activities Summerwood matched the donations by spending £20 on buying the red noses and the cake kits. Our total raised was £40 and everyone had a great time:) …

Redcroft Spruce Up…

A swanky new bathroom was installed at Redcroft and now offers both bath and shower facility as well as a fresh new feel. The old bathroom was completely replaced including tiles, flooring and colourful paintwork.  Huge thanks to the staff and residents for their patience while this work was being carried out. Additionally, the downstairs hallway was redecorated.  With such a grand old Edwardian house, updating and refreshing is always discreetly carried out while the charm for which Redcroft is loved is respected and upheld where possible. …

Apple House Sponsors Arctic Challenge!

Apple House were thrilled to sponsor our very own Rachel, support worker at Redroft care home, as she bravely undertook an Arctic Challenge.  Rachel raised over £3,000 in aid of Diverse Abilities Plus: a local charity which provides assistance, support and education to children and adults with profound physical and learning disabilities, as well as supporting their families.  This is a charity close to our hearts.  Rachel braved extreme conditions and still retained a smile!
